Basic Bead Crochet

Saturday Feb 27, 2010

Basic Bead Crochet

Materials:

Size 6/0 seed beads in 4 or 5 distinct colors

1 spool C-lon thread

Size 4 crochet hook

1 foam core piece (can be picked up from store prior to class)

Basic Bead Crochet PreWork

Pre-work (must be done before class time)

Using the c-lon thread, wrap around the foam core piece a minimum of 100 times.  This is approximately 50 feet of workable thread.  Next, string beads on the thread in desired order. Order is whatever is pleasing to student’s design.  The order strung will correspond to the order crocheted.  Remain consistent with order chosen, as this is what creates the spiraling of each color in the design.

Example: For the sample pictured above, pre-work was strung was 1 each of clear, orange, purple, gold, and continued in this same pattern.

Cost: $50 for both sessions plus materials
