Metal Clay Workshop – Copper & Bronze

Interested in Bronze or Copper Metal Clay? Have you had some experience with Art Clay? This is the class for you!

This will be a double session, 4 hour workshop where students will learn handling, treating, and firing techinques specific to the Bronze and Copper Art Clay as well as stamping, texturing, and molding techniques that apply to all types of Art Clay.

Tools will be available for classroom use. Students may bring their own tools but are reminded tools used for each type of Art Clay must be kept seperate from the others. Example, one set of tools for Silver, one for Copper, and one for Bronze.

Cost: $50 plus materials, clay purchase recommendations will be made day of class or by speaking with Debbie ahead of time.

Metal Clay Thumbprint Workshop

MC Thumbprint

Materials:

Kit includes all materials
Tools available for class use
5 grams  to 7 grams of metal clay, teacher will help each student determine how much clay will be needed based on size of thumbprint.
Jump ring included to attach pendant as desired

Cost: $25 to $30, price for 5 grams or 7 grams of clay, respectively

This simple beginner project makes a great gift for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or any special occasion!  Great for kids to make for mom or dad.  This workshop is open, so students can come during the time scheduled.  First students will do their thumbprint in metal clay.  Teacher will give tips on how to use the metal clay and get a good print.  After approximately 1-2 hours, the piece will be fired in the kiln and ready for pick up.

Calling all interested parties in metal clay!!

Tampa Bead Cafe will host a planning meeting for local enthusiasts interested in starting a Tampa Chapter of the nationally organized Art Clay Society. This is the first planning meeting, so do attend if you are interested in being part of this from the very beginning!

Art Clay Society is a national organization for metal clay enthusiasts to gather, share ideas & inspiration, discuss techniques, and so much more!

This list is just a suggestion; a lot of the items mentioned above are available for classroom use. Please bring any needed supplies you may already have. Just remember that if there is only one item for several students to share, it will lengthen the classes time.
